live your life for an audience of one.

how it all began

Out of a desire for connection and sisterhood, I (Mónica) began hosting brunches, book clubs, and Bible studies for women out of our tiny apartment on the Northwest side of Chicago. From this, a holistic community was created.

our ethos

We believe…

“In God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; on the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the one holy church both visible and invisible, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.”

— Apostle's Creed

Hi friend! I am so glad you’re here! Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Mónica, and I'm your host for “all the things!”

Redefining Tables was born out of a void in my life. After losing what felt like nearly everything, I found myself longing for community and for acceptance, Because my world had been flipped upside down, I was positive there must have been other women who felt the same.

I had family who loved me and friends who supported me, and still, God was nudging me for more.

Breaking bread has always been sacred. I wanted to share meaningful moments with friends, study the Bible and what began as a void has since become a community.

It started with scrolling through my contacts and inviting close friends and family I hadn't seen in a while over for a potluck. Then it became book clubs and Bible studies. Then friends of friends became my friends, and they invited their friends. We invited friends to brunches, Bible study and book clubs.

What a sweet ride it’s been!

So, what are “all the things?!”

This is a blog, a sisterhood ministry and as of June of 2026, a nonprofit missions ministry. Ignite Global Missions exists to advance missional discipleship through training and mobilization. You guessed it— “all the things!”

If you're reading my story today, consider yourself invited. We've saved you a seat.
